Post-Thanksgiving Stroll Through 'The Sugar Chest'

Hope y'all had a great Thanksgiving!

We stayed put for once and had Josh's parents and brother down from St. Louis along with my parents and a couple of close friends for Thanksgiving dinner.  Linner.  Supper.  Whatever you wanna call it, it was quite the delicious little feast!

Never mind the classy-trashy "crystal".

For Black Friday, Old Southern Soul offered our amazing customers 25% off everything in the shop.  So between that and Small Business Saturday, we had a pretty good weekend!

After dropping off my in-laws at FLL this afternoon, I cruised up to The Sugar Chest to spruce up the shop.  Since returning from my Tennessee trip, I haven't been able to get many of my purchases up to the mall, so I grabbed a handful of goodies to take in before we headed to the airport.

Vintage Samsonite "Royal Traveller" Train Case.

Interior - Vintage Samsonite "Royal Traveller" Train Case.

Ignore the Price-Tag string - Vintage Norman Kartiganer Wig/Hat Stand with Suction Cup Base. (Hot pink velvet!!)

14" x 40.5" Leaded Glass Window.

1950's Ekco Ovenex Muffin Tin with Starburst pattern.

1970's Gemco "Spice O' Life" Ketchup and Mustard Dispensers.

After straightening up the shop and placing my new items, I took a stroll throughout the mall.  There's so many interesting things to see at The Sugar Chest, it really is like looking in a chest full of sugar and spice and everything nice!

Here are a few things that caught my eye!

Louis Crusius, MD: Illustrator and Doctor.

Pink Settee.

Victorian Locket with lockets of hair.

Black Americana Memorabilia.

Boyd's "Peanut Butter" Kisses Wood Crate.

Men's Wiener-dog Dresser Valet.

Vintage Carnival Game.

Hand Painted Duck Whirligig.

Painted Cast Iron Skull.

The Seven Dwarfs.

Kentucky Fried Chicken Matches.
Hope you enjoyed this little photo-tour of the mall!  Speaking of tours, I almost forgot!  Google Maps did a great virtual tour of the mall for all you out-of-towners!  Click here for the link: Virtual Tour of The Sugar Chest

If you're a local, you can only do the virtual tour if you promise to head into The Sugar Chest, Check-In at Old Southern Soul on Facebook and tell me how much you enjoyed the space in real-life!!

Happy December!!

Best,
Angela
