Yesterday I dragged my mom up to Loxahatchee, Florida, to go pickin with me. We were invited to a pre-sale by
Estate Sales of South Florida for a local restaurateur. A large portion of the his personal property was being sold. Well, most of the items were from his Wild West themed restaurant (which closed a few years back): Gary's Stagecoach Junction.
So the sale was in Loxahatchee, which to us Broward County folk, is "up in the country". When we turned off the main street onto a quote-unquote residential road, we immediately hit gravel and I just knew the estate was going to be magnificent!

A lifted pick-up in Loxahatchee...Priceless. |
Blue skies. |
The long gravel roads led us to a beautiful property full of surprises. In addition to the "horse" drawn cart seen below, there was a life-size angus cattle replica and a host of other quirky western paraphernalia.
"If y’all want a piece of Loxahatchee country
history, mosey on down..."

Art thou not entertained? |
After waiting over an hour for the sale to begin, we were called in order of arrival to enter the large two story warehouse. I was number 24 in line, but was still able to get a couple of things I had specifically came for.
Patiently waiting our turns. |
A trailer filled with collectible whiskey decanter bottles. |
A shed full of vintage serveware. |
Loved the texture and color on this corrugated metal shed. |
Pond on premises. |
Stainless steel pitchers. |
Shelves and shelves of restaurant grade serveware. |
Some amazing if not dusty old soda bottles. |
After making 3 or 4 passes through the warehouse and outbuildings, I was hot, sweaty and ready to go.
And hungry too! So my mom and I hauled my pile of goodies over to Miss Brigitte (remember, my fav estate sale company owner from my previous blog post:
Where'd you get that booty?) to checkout.
90 degrees outside. 100 million degrees inside. |
My little haul. |
Check back soon to see what all I got!
Best,
Angela
